The purpose of the 2005 salary survey project was to gain data that Minnesota ABE programs and teachers can use. ABE managers often want to know how their programs' compensation compared with that of other programs similar to their own. The ten-minute survey was written by the Professional Issues Committee and posted on the Surveymonkey website. Links to the survey were sent to Minnesota ABE managers.
Knowing that ABE programs often span multiple school districts with varying compensation plans, we asked ABE managers to forward the survey link to leadership at sites within their consortia. We received 54 responses.
The results are divided into four categories: Community Based Organizations, Greater Minnesota programs, Metro programs, and Suburban programs. The original plan was to also sub-divide those categories by program size based on contact hours. Although contact hour information on ABE consortia is available, we also had responses from individual sites within those consortia, so division by size proved to be problematic. The raw data collected is also posted here as a spreadsheet, so anyone can look at the info and make their own comparisons and conclusions.
The data is presented as it was received. If you find some of the data questionable, please keep in mind the possibility that respondents interpreted the questions differently or the responses were simply mistyped somewhere in the process.
